Personal branding has taken off in the past few years because we have an opportunity like never before to be our own publisher. Through social media sites like Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, Google+ (and the list goes on) to our websites and blogs, we are able to distribute information that helps seal our credibility, show our personalities, and share our opinions. Internet Censorship Can Kill Your Business
On January 24th, the Internet as we know may change beyond recognition. That is when the Senate is set to vote on PIPA (Protect Internet IP Act). Do not be disillusioned by its name, the bill is scary – and so is its sister SOPA (Stop Online Piracy Act). WordPress, Google, Mozilla, and many other companies are against these bills. WordPress has even placed an urgent plea in the dashboard section of all their blogs to Help Stop SOPA/PIPA.
